Corrections log
Sizes and rules can change, and people make mistakes. When we fix a material error on a page, we record it here with a date. We think a public corrections log is a feature, not an embarrassment.
What counts as a correction
We log material fixes: wrong sizes, out-of-date rules, wrong company details, or explanations that misled even when technically true. Small typo fixes that change no meaning are not logged.
How to report an error
Email editorial@bedguide.co.uk with the page link and the correct detail, ideally with a source. Every report is read. If you are right, the page is fixed and the fix appears below.
The log
- 2026-09-25 — Zip and link mattresses: UK sizes, pros and cons: Corrected the size of zip and link Super King halves. The page said two 90 × 190 cm Singles make a Super King. Super King halves are usually 90 × 200 cm; two standard Singles are 10 cm too short. The same fix was made on the zip and link glossary entry, the joining guide, the Emperor sizes guide, the Beds A–Z entry and two short answers, and the diagrams were redrawn.
- 2026-09-25 — What is BS 7177? UK mattress fire safety labels: Clarified that the display and permanent label schedules in the 1988 fire safety regulations exclude mattresses and bed bases. For mattresses, the 1988 rules cover the fillings, and the fire label comes from BS 7177. The October 2025 update is still described.
- 2026-09-25 — Split tension mattresses: half and half guide: Replaced a diagram that showed zip and link (two mattresses) instead of split tension (one mattress with two spring zones).
Our promise on dates
A page's "last changed" date moves only when its content genuinely changes. We never re-stamp a page to look fresh without changing it. See the editorial policy for the full rules.
