What is the difference between side-lift and end-lift ottoman beds?

End-lift ottomans hinge at the head and need clear space at the foot. Side-lift ottomans hinge along a long edge and need clear flank space. Both use gas struts; the difference is room planning and access, not storage quality by itself.
